Seven months after the release of Ponniyin Selvan 2, its sequel has hit the screens today. Mani Ratnam has tried to make the second part of the film grander than the first. Ponniyin Selvan 2 Movie Storyline

The film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is based on the rise of the legendary Chola king Arulmorivarman, who is said to be the son of Kaveri, to the throne.

The second part begins exactly where the first part ended. Arunmozhi Varman (Jayam Ravi) and Vallavarayan Vandhiyadevudu (Karthi), who drowned in the sea fighting the Pandyas, are saved by Mandhakini (Aishwarya Rai), a mute woman. Later Arunmozhi Varman gets treated by the Buddhas in Lanka. At the same time, Nandini (Aishwarya Rai), along with the Pandyas, hatch a conspiracy to eliminate the Chola dynasty.

This is also the time when Aditya, the head of the Chola dynasty, tries to dethrone Karikaludu (Vikram) and make Madhurantakudu (Rahman) the Chola king. What happened later? Who is this Mandhakini really? What is the secret behind Nandini who looks like Mandhakini? Did Arunmozhi and Vallavarayan Vandhiyadevudu return to the Chola dynasty?
